The deployment marks RoboSense E Platform LiDAR’s first mass-production application in L2+ passenger vehicles, expanding proven LiDAR technology into mainstream intelligent driving.
Shenzhen, China, July 30, 2026 — RoboSense (HKEX: 02498), a pioneering robotics platform company for Physical AI, announced that its E Platform LiDAR has been equipped on Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max. This marks the first mass-production application of RoboSense E Platform blind-spot LiDAR in L2+ passenger vehicles and Xiaomi’s first adoption of a rear-facing fully solid-state LiDAR.
At Xiaomi’s second automotive technology launch event, Xiaomi unveiled its second vehicle product series, SkyNomad, featuring intelligent large-space SUVs built on the Xiaomi Kunlun architecture. The SkyNomad series comes standard with Xiaomi HAD intelligent driving system and Xiaomi XLA cognitive large model. As the flagship seven-seat extended-range SUV, Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max is equipped with RoboSense E Platform fully solid-state digital LiDAR as a rear blind-spot LiDAR solution. With 2cm ranging accuracy and an ultra-wide detection coverage of 140° horizontally and 105° vertically, the LiDAR enhances rear-side perception capabilities, significantly reducing the challenges of tight-space parking and providing more reliable safety protection for large SUV parking scenarios.
Previously, RoboSense E Platform LiDAR was primarily deployed in L4 Robotaxi applications and a limited number of premium flagship vehicles. With its deployment on Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 Max,RoboSense E Platform LiDAR is expanding into mainstream L2+ passenger vehicles, enabling more intelligent driving scenarios with enhanced perception redundancy.
At the launch event, Xiaomi Group founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun highlighted RoboSense’s E platform LiDAR as a key safety hardware component of Xiaomi Kunlun technical architecture. “N90 Max comes standard with a rear-facing solid-state LiDAR, providing a better solution for large-space SUVs.This is Xiaomi’s first fully solid-state blind-spot LiDAR deployment. This LiDAR offers wider perception coverage and achieves 2cm ranging accuracy, creating a safety shield at the rear of the vehicle,” said Lei Jun. “It can accurately identify rear overhead obstacles, suspended irregular obstacles, and low-height obstacles that are difficult for cameras to detect. For example, it can detect deep pits near roadside parking spaces to reduce the risk of getting stuck; identify suspended obstacles near parking pillars to enable collision avoidance; and detect ceiling-mounted air-conditioning pipes in underground parking garages to warn against potential roof collisions.”
Powered by RoboSense’s proprietary SPAD-SoC chip and 2D VCSEL technology, RoboSense E Platform LiDAR has been deployed across vehicles from more than 90% of leading L4 Robotaxi companies worldwide. Built on a fully solid-state architecture with no moving parts, E Platform delivers high reliability, consistency, and durability, and all LiDAR products have achieved AEC-Q automotive-grade certification. With cumulative deliveries exceeding 300,000 units, E Platform has become one of the most widely deployed fully solid-state digital LiDAR platforms globally. It is emerging as a critical safety solution for L2+ intelligent driving and is being adopted across more production vehicle models.
